Operating a Pension Fund
Given their function as a provider of retirement, death, and disability insurance, pension funds have a certain number of processes and operations in common. These three training modules are designed to teach you more about these characteristics.
Below you will a summary of contents for each module. The dates and places listed below are for the French-speaking training modules. To learn more about dates for the German modules in Bern, please revert to the German pages of the Pittet website.
Module 2a

Objectives
Describe the different options in terms of occupational benefit planning - Famliarise participants with the social, demographic, and political issues pertaining to pension funds - Introduce actuarial concepts - Present the role of the expert and the different bodies within a pension fund - Explain the responsibilities of the members of a foundation board.
Module 2b

Objectives
Familiarise participants with issues pertaining to the technical management of a pension fund, and the requirements in terms of communications and information conveyed to policyholders - Present the different forms of primacy - Define a strategic allocation using an Asset Liability Management test - Introduce the concept of dynamic analysis as applied to pension funds.
Module 2c

Objectives
Help participants understand perfectly the role of the actuary and an actuarial study - Introduce the issue of reinsurance and accounting standards - Understand the methods used to calculate the cost of benefits, stocks and SFR.
